When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from your Google account to create your VyrSnip profile. We also store the content you create — snippets, comments, likes, and requests — along with basic usage data such as snippet view counts and timestamps.
Your information is used to operate your account, display your public profile and snippets, send notifications about activity on your content, and improve the platform. We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
Account and content data is stored using Supabase (PostgreSQL). Avatars and uploaded images may be hosted on Supabase Storage or external CDNs. Reasonable technical measures, including Row Level Security policies, are in place to restrict access to your data.
VyrSnip uses cookies to keep you signed in and to remember your theme preference. These cookies are essential for the site to function and are not used for third-party advertising or tracking.
We use Google OAuth for authentication and, optionally, GitHub for gist export if you connect it. These services have their own privacy policies governing how they handle your data.
You can edit or delete your snippets and comments at any time from your account. If you want your account and associated data permanently removed, contact the site admin through the contact details on your profile or the donate page.
VyrSnip is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
This policy may be updated as the platform evolves. Significant changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
